What does it take to build a global technology company from Estonia?

At this event, Haver Järveoja, entrepreneur and co-founder of Ready Player Me, will share the story behind one of Estonia’s most internationally recognised technology companies.

Ready Player Me began with a simple idea: people should be able to use the same digital identity and avatar across different games and virtual worlds. Turning that idea into a global business took more than good technology. It took patience, experimentation, difficult decisions and the willingness to change direction when something was not working.

Over the years, the company grew from a small Estonian startup into an international team of 75 people across 13 countries. As COO, Haver helped lead the company through its growth, including a $56 million Series B funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz. In late 2025, Ready Player Me was acquired by Netflix.

But this event is not only about the funding round or the acquisition. It is about what happened in between: how the idea developed, what the founders got wrong, how the team was built and what it really takes to grow a company internationally.

Topics discussed:

  • How the idea for Ready Player Me came about
  • Why the founders decided to stay in the avatar space
  • How the company developed from its first products into Ready Player Me
  • The biggest changes, challenges and turning points along the way
  • What it is like to build a product in a new and rapidly changing market
  • How to grow from a small Estonian team into an international company
  • What Haver learned about hiring, finance, legal matters and running a growing business
  • How the team prepared for the Netflix acquisition
  • The lessons Haver would take with him from the entire journey

This evening is for founders, small-business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs and anyone curious about how ambitious ideas become real companies.

Come and hear an honest and practical story about building globally from Estonia – with all the uncertainty, hard work and unexpected turns that come with it.

The event is FREE, but registration is required.
