Talsinki Metropolitan Incubation project consolidates Estonian and Finnish entrepreneurs

The unique incubation project Talsinki has been launched  for developing new business relations between entrepreneurs based in Estonia and Finland. Talsinki is now open for applications for the first networking event.

The new incubation project is planning to connect the entrepreneurs of the two countries that are favorably positioned in both geographical  and cultural terms.  The main idea is to connect the right people on knowledge intensive basis and finally provide access to finance. Talsinki operates in the fields of ICT, healthtech, cleantech and creative industries.

The project is run by four well established business incubators: Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol and Tallinn Business Incubators plus Spinno Enterprise Center of  Laurea Univeristy of applied Sciences and Aalto Startup Center / Aalto Small Business Center.

According to the Estonian project manager Triin Mahlakõiv entrepreneurs from both countries can benefit from the new project. “The global competition is very high in all fields of operation, but at the same time the resources in small countries are limited. Together we are able to compete at higher level and increase our export capabilities,” Mahlakõiv said.

Talsinki has readiness to support a considerable number of entrepreneurs and businesses during the first 3-year period. “We can take in up to 240 startup cofounders and support 150 startups and SME-s throughout the project.  50 startup companies will finally be directed to business angels networks,” Mahlakõiv revealed.  Estonian Business Angels Network (EstBAN) is an official partner in Talsinki incubation project.

The overall aim of the Talsinki Metropolitan Incubation project is to facilitate the creation of 30 new joint Baltic knowledge intensive companies. The participants can take part in professional workshops, networking events, trainings and conferences, also benefit from the support of the best Estonian and Finnish business mentors from the participating incubators.  The accommodation and travel costs of the admitted participants will be covered by the project.

The first matchmaking event takes place in Helsinki on the 31th of March.  For additional participation information please contact Magnus.lomp@inkubaator.ee
