Paytailor won Lean in EU WBAs pitch event
On June 15, 2018 Lean in EU Women Business Angels pitch event took place at the Tallinn Creative Incubator. The first prize went to Paytailor, a startup that develops mobile payment method. Paytailor will go to represent Estonia in the international finals in Italy in December 2018.
Jury was unanimous in their decision to choose Paytailor as a winner, although the decision was not fast and other startups were considered as winners as well. Several jury members had seen Paytailor pitching in the past, and this time, in comparison with the past, there was a big improvement in both pitch presentation and business in general. Paytailor team was also assessed for its ambition, and the jury found that Paytailor would benefit greatly from participating in the final competition in Italy to find the contacts needed for business development. The jury included investors and partners from Estonia and Finland: Ainomaija Haarla, Heidi Kakko, Merlin Salvik, Jana Pavlenkova, Kristel Meos, Ivar Siimar and Petri Saarinen.
Lean in the EU WBAs pitching event was organized by Tallinn Creative Incubator in cooperation with Estonian Business Angels Association EstBAN in the framework of the Lean in EU Women Business Angels project. The aim of the project is to increase the number of women investors and entrepreneurs and to support their development. A total of 18 applications were received to participate in the Estonian event and 8 outstanding companies were selected to present their ideas: Ragnarok, FACT Industries, Paytailor, INZMO, Zelos, PRO-1 Nanosolutions, HopKid and Ridline.
The winner Paytailor will represent Estonia in the final competition that will be held in Italy in December 2018 where the winner will be awarded with the title of Lean in EU WBAs Community Best Female Startup. In addition to Paytailor, Estonia will also be represented by Fanvestory, who won a similar event in February. The third winner will be selected at the pitch event that takes place in October.
