Tallinn Business Incubators (TBI) was established in 2006 by the City of Tallinn with the aim of offering support measures to sustainable start-up businesses with an export potential. Today, TBI operates three business incubators with a total area of ca. 2500 m2: Tallinn Creative Incubator, Ülemiste Business Incubator and Kopli Business Incubator.
The mission TBI of is to provide a supportive environment while also improving the business competence of enterprises. The most popular services provided are business consultations and training sessions, as well as different events ranging from afternoon discussions to collaborative marketing schemes. There are also practical workshops, networking seminars and educational field trips.
All enterprises wishing to join the incubator will have to participate in a thorough basic business training course and are requested to put together a business plan. The latter is evaluated by a group of experts who will also provide detailed feedback. To develop their business, entrepreneurs can use the help of the in-house coaching team as well as the external mentor network. The assistance available ranges from business know-how and professional guidelines to the opportunity to rent offices, studios and showrooms below the market price. With additional financial support from the incubator, incubees have the opportunity to further their professional skills on training courses and workshops of their choosing.
All premises boast spacious seminar rooms that are available for the incubees for their own events and meetings. The Creative Incubator also has a foyer – dubbed The Living Room – that can be used for different purposes ranging from informal meetings to evening receptions.
TBI also operates the Creative Industries Development Centre that opened in 2012 in the Creative Incubator. It supports creative individuals and companies all over Estonia in the development of their business activities, internationalization and in increasing sales on foreign markets.
